Microlandia is made by Information Superhighway Games (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data the game and this website collect, why, and what your choices are.

The short version

What the game collects

Anonymous crash and error diagnostics (Sentry). When the game hits an error or crash, we receive a technical report: the error and stack trace, your operating system and version, your hardware and GPU, and the game version. These reports are configured to exclude personal information. We use them only to find and fix bugs.

Anonymous usage statistics (PostHog). The game records a small set of gameplay and diagnostic events, for example that the game launched, whether your GPU initialised, that a city was started, that an election was won, or that the tutorial was completed. These events are tied to a random identifier generated on and stored on your device, not to your name, email, or any account. We use them to understand how the game is played and where players run into trouble. This data is processed on European (EU) servers.

Your game files. Cities, settings, and progress are saved as local files on your computer. They never leave your device through us. If you play through a store that offers cloud saves (such as Steam Cloud), that sync is handled by the store under its own privacy policy.

What this website collects

Newsletter (Mailchimp). If you sign up for updates, we store the email address you provide so we can email you about Microlandia. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We use Mailchimp to send these messages.

Server logs. Like most websites, our host records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This is used to operate the site securely and is kept for a limited time.

Purchases

If you buy Microlandia, the purchase is handled entirely by the store you buy it from (Steam, the Mac App Store, or itch.io) under that store’s own privacy policy. We do not receive or store your payment details.

Who processes your data

We rely on a small number of service providers, each bound by its own privacy terms:

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing. The only personal data we hold is a newsletter email address, if you gave us one. Children

Microlandia is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

We and our providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the European Union and the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the game and our tools evolve. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
