Tourism got a full rework. Tourists are now real visitors who check into hotels, stay a few days, and spend money around your city.
- Hotels are occupancy-driven now. Tourists check in, stay for about 3 days, then check out. No guests means no revenue. You can see occupancy bars on each hotel just like hospitals show patients.
- New bigger hotel. The old hotel is now called Boutique Hotel (20 guests). The new one is a 2x2 building that holds 50 guests.
- Tourism aura changed: Instead of boosting retail revenue by a percentage, each point of tourism aura now attracts one tourist per day. Tourists spend money at retail and hospitality businesses around town based on their budget.
- Tourists have a daily budget that averages $400. There are some “whale” tourists that spend millions when visited your city.
- The likelyhood of a whale visiting your city increases by placing more buildings with tourism aura.
- Casinos no longer need a gift to unlock.
- Tourists from hotels also gamble in Casinos.
- Tourism surge now doubles tourist arrivals instead of a flat revenue boost. Make sure you have enough hotel beds when it hits.
- You can no longer build a road that would create a junction at a bus stop.
